~ People to Advise of your move ~ - Gas &/or electricity authority. - Australia Post. - Telephone service ie. Telstra, Optus etc. - Schools. - Clubs. - Your doctor. - Your dentist. - Any publication you subscribe to. - Motor vehicle registration (for vehicle registration & drivers license). ~ Before your move ~ - Make sure your cartons are packed tightly and securely sealed with tape. - Number your cartons 1 10 and write your surname on them. - Place loose items in bags or boxes. - Ensure items to be dismantled are ready prior to arrival of our truck. - Defrost and empty fridges and freezers at least 24 hours prior to uplift of goods. - Make sure all garden hoses are drained of all water. - Check with manufacturer of your whitegoods ie fridge, washing machine, dryer etc, and be guided by their advice regarding securing bowls/motors etc. - Thoroughly clean and dry inside of fridges, freezers and dishwashers. - Clean and spray dog kennels, empty and clean fish tanks, birdcages etc. - Drain fuel and oil from lawn mowers, edgers, whipper snippers and dishwashers etc. - Seek manufacturers advice regarding computer drive, video drive etc. - Dispose of all un-sealed liquids. - Empty gas cylinder from your BBQ. - Clean BBQ surface and any other areas with grease etc. - Empty and hose out compost bins and other rubbish bins. - Dismantle swing-sets, play-gyms, trampolines etc (put nuts and bolts in a safe place) - Remove hooks and sinkers from fishing line. - Remove pumps, water bottles, barriers etc from bicycles. - Wash out rubbish bins and wheelbarrows. - Dispose of all aerosol cans, flammable fluids, matches etc. ~ At the time of uplift ~ - Be on hand the day of removal or authorise someone to act on your behalf to answer any queries for the removalist. - Point out to our men which items are to be moved, this allows them to work out amount of space needed, so they can have enough loading space for fragile items. - Check your yard & garage for any items you may have forgotten. - Tighten taps. - Check and turn off gas and electricity switches and lights, lock doors & windows. ~ At the time of delivery ~ - Have an advance plan for placement of your furniture. - Be on hand or have someone authorised for directing the placement of furniture.
